Plastic Keytags Printing with Barcodes and QR Codes

A wallet card can be forgotten in another bag. A Keytag goes everywhere your customer's keys go. That is why gyms, supermarkets, petrol stations, cafes, libraries and clubs give members a Keytag: it is always there at the counter, the front desk or the door.

Our Plastic Keytags are 54 x 29mm, printed in full colour on durable PVC with a hole for the key ring. They are small enough not to annoy anyone and big enough for your logo and a barcode.

Most Keytags carry a unique code so your system can look the member up instantly:

• Barcodes: unique barcodes are $50 per run, printed black on a white panel with clear space so they scan first time
• QR codes: ideal for apps and phone-based check-in, also $50 per run
• Sequential numbers: $50 per run, printed on their own or under the barcode
• Names or member data from your list: variable data is $100 per run

Already have members? Give us your last number and the new Keytags carry on from there, so no number is used twice. Every layout is shown on your free proof before anything prints.

Gyms with 24/7 access and businesses with secure doors often want a Keytag that opens the door as well as scanning at the desk. RFID Keytags carry a chip that your access system reads, and they can carry a printed barcode too. Chip types vary between systems, so RFID Keytags are quoted to your reader. Want members to have both? Plastic Combo Cards are a full-size wallet card with snap-off Keytags that carry the same barcode or number, so the card and Keytag always match. Or order Keytags alongside Membership Cards or Plastic Loyalty Cards printed with the same artwork.

At 2,000 Plastic Keytags are $810 (40.5c each), at 5,000 they are $1,705 (34.1c each), and at 20,000 they drop to $5,047, about 25.2c each. Every price includes full-colour printing, GST, a free digital proof and free delivery Australia-wide. Barcodes, numbering and variable data are charged per run, not per Keytag.

Our standard Plastic Keytags are 54 x 29mm with rounded corners and a hole at one end for the key ring. That size fits a standard barcode comfortably and still sits neatly on a bunch of keys. Keytags can be supplied loose, or as snap-off Keytags attached to a wallet card as Plastic Combo Cards, so the member gets both in one piece.

Printing is full colour on both sides. Most businesses put the logo on the front and the barcode, number and a short message on the back, such as "Scan at reception" or "If found, please return to" with your phone number.

• Keep the barcode horizontal across the longest side, so it is as wide as possible
• Print the barcode black on a white panel with clear space at each end
• Print the number underneath in a plain font so staff can key it in if needed
• Keep text and logos at least 3mm from the edge and well clear of the hole
• Use bold, simple artwork on the front, because a Keytag is small and viewed from a distance

Keytags work brilliantly for loyalty. Supermarkets, petrol stations, bottle shops, cafes and pet stores give customers a Keytag so it is always there at the register. The Keytag carries a barcode that your POS links to the customer's points balance, and because it never leaves their keys, customers use it far more often than a wallet card. Your artwork stays on file, so a reorder only needs the quantity. If your Keytags are numbered, tell us the last number used and the new run carries on from there, so every member keeps a unique code. Many gyms and clubs reorder once or twice a year as new members join.

Most Keytag programs fall into one of four setups:

• Branded only: your logo and message in full colour, great as a promotional giveaway or a reminder of your business on every customer's keys.
• Numbered: a sequential number on each Keytag ($50 per run), for clubs that check members against a list.
• Barcode or QR: a unique code that scans at the counter or front desk ($50 per run), the most popular choice for gyms and loyalty programs.
• RFID: a chip for door entry, quoted to your reader, with a printed barcode as well if you need it.

Want names on the Keytags? Variable data from your member list is $100 per run. Many businesses also order a small stock of extra Keytags at the same time, so new members can be handed one on the spot.

Whichever setup you choose, every price includes full-colour printing on both sides, GST and a free digital proof. Your Keytags are printed only after you approve the proof, so you can check every code and number first. If you are replacing old Keytags, send a photo and we will match the barcode format so your current scanners keep working.
